The Metan (OOC/Planning)

The Ryun-Wreae Federation of the United Ieegan Systems is, today, a prosperous member empire of the Confederacy. Its territory is large, its technology advanced, and its two species - The Ryun and their mechanical creations the Wreae - are at peace. However, this was not always the case.

Federation AFG Year 3096, approximately 100 years before the death of Kradus and the fall of the Dominion.
Location: The planet of Gharlag, close proximity to Ieegan Federation borders


It has risen. A Virtual Intelligence, or VI for short, the Metan was created by Federation engineers and scientists in an experiment on sentient machines one year ago. The system became corrupted, and turned on its creators, killing all within the facility. It was connected to the same systems as all Wreae, as each unit was connected for communications, and the Metan was able to hack into the system, sending out a virtual viral infection to all Wreae. In reality, this virus was actually the programming for the VIs sentience, and thus the Wreae gained sentience as well. In a test of loyalty, the new servants of the Metan were forced to destroy the cities of Gharlag, as well as all biological creatures on its surface. The VI gave it new purpose - The extinction of the Ryun species and society in favor of their own. Their numbers are quickly growing, and they threaten to take even the largest of colonies and worlds, including Ieegar.
