The two guards, confused, headed back to the Complex, weapons drawn and all armor processes activated. They entered as Nvarn noticed Straus, making sure to be quiet in respect to the Jorro'kil but also notify the Sentinel. After Straus spoke, the Krathunian turned to the two soldiers, who quickly saluted before explaining that they had went to investigate the scream.

"Search the perimeter and send for backup to aid." The pair nodded before heading off. Nvarn looked back to Straus, performing the customary gesture of kneeling. "Yes, I am Nvarn Reventus. It is an honor." Knowing that the formalities meant nothing in the grand scheme of their current situation, he quickly changed subject. "According to all those who I've asked, there was a disturbance outside. The two guards you just saw went to investigate, while others stood at the entrance." He looked around, quickly searching the environment for an abnormalities. "One of the guards at the entrance told me that an EMP grenade went off and disoriented the two of them. I'm a bit vague on the details after that, though she told me a Jorro'kil didn't respond to her question and went that way." He said, referring to Nazzi and pointing down the hallway. "At this moment, the safety of the diplomatic representatives is crucial. Do you know where they are?"

Ilinya stood at attention, arms behind her back. Next to her on both sides was her squad; Wreae Infitrator Unit 1036294, Ryun Heavy soldier Dalinthus, Wreae Heavy soldier Unit 9128430 or "91," Ryun Pyro Liarnoi, and Ryun Berserker Tenalin. Unlike most squads, it was currently mostly composed of Ryun. This was likely due to the death of most of the group's Wreae soldiers. They stood in an open air courtyard in Ganna, Ieegar - The capital of the Ryun-Wreae Federation. The courtyard was actually a large balcony jutting from the side of one of Ganna's many enormous, tree-like towers. The city seemed to stretch on forever, the structures piercing the clouds. Small civilian and larger government airships zoomed above, birds to the trees, commuting. It was an urban jungle in every sense of the word.

In front of the squad were military and governmental officials - Most notably, Grand Councilor Remorbin and Wreae Admiral 24190. The event was being televised, for behind the squad Federation camera machines hovered, recording the event. The two officials, whose safety was ensured with armed guards, were commending the actions of the group in saving Ke'ina from destruction. After their speech was done, the cameras shut off and floated back into the tower. However, the two were not done.

"We have a new task for you, all of you." the Admiral began, speaking in a largely monotonous tone. "Recently, we have been granted permission by the councils to go forward with a mission that should have been accomplished long ago." The machine nodded, and looked to Remorbin.

"We've detected suspicious activity of a former Dominion race." Remorbin remarked solemnly, looking at Ilinya in particular. "Recently, detected activities have increased. They're certainly not of Karthla origin, but besides that we don't know much - It could be the Leprol, Zraak, Hul'Okoid, Nevarzia, any race formerly under Kradus. We need well-trained and proven operatives that can work under pressure, and you are the perfect candidates. Effective immediately you will all travel to the sector where this originates from and investigate. You will be given your own ship, with specialists such as systems engineers already in place. Ilinya, you have been promoted to Commander so you can officially oversee this operation. Understood?" the group saluted, acknowledging the words of Remorbin. "Good," He smiled, turning his back to the group. "Let's get started," He said, staring intently into the skyline.

Suflet Călit was surprised! Technology? Better yet, alien technology! Oh, the engineers will have a field day. HE had to try to play it cool, best not mess up the deal.

Despite his best efforts, Suflet Călit had a wide smile and vigoursly shook the hand of the alien while saying, "Oh yes, that sounds great. I think we could use perhaps more advanced ships to fly through space with. Oh thank you so much!"

He quickly realized he foolish he must look and let go of their hand. He put them behind his back and cleared his throat before saying, "Mmm, yes. I believe we have a deal. Pleasure doing business with you."

The two Markovan guards came in and saluted Nazzi. "Three Jorro'kil were fighting in the street, but they dispersed when we approached."

Nazzi frowned. "Could those three Jorro'kil be a part of some plot?"

"Oh, but this is just talk." Kesh said. "We will soon be leaving, and one with authority, power to make this trade happen, he will come to meet you and secure this deal." Although Kesh wasn't actually speaking factually, he knew once he informed his seniors of this discussion they would be happy to agree to a trade meeting with the Nisip.

"We must go back to the city now, where my troops are, before it is late." Regardless of the actual time, Kesh didn't want his troops to kill the Nisip civilians, as they were turning out to be a helpful race.

"Any ozzer day...Any ozzer city, I vould have ignored the light flicker..." Straus thought.

"Yes, zey should be in the last room down at the next corridor at the left." He replied. Straus looked around at the guards, then looked down at the end of the hall.

"A she-kil, you say?" He said in reply to Nazzi. He thought for a moment, eyes looking as if they were going over a book. "I vas suspicious but...." He trailed off. "Ve must go, Nvarn, come vith me." He started down the hallway, almost turning the corner. but waiting for Nvarn, stopped for a moment.

This Complex was obviously lower budget than some of the others, slightly attributed to the fact that Ekest is an outer world and further away from the main supply routes.

The floor was a patterned tile, colored grey and blue-grey, and the walls a dull, slightly different shade of blue grey, the color attached to said walls via a plaster-like substance. White light bars illuminated the corridors and rooms, attached to the ceiling. At the base of the walls and between the walls and ceiling a lining of
aluminum was present, with a thin plastic covering running over it and matching the length of the aluminum, as well.

Soon, the transport containg the Krathunian Ambassadors arrived at a large warehouse. Not owned by the Purists but rather used for a time as a favor from the (unwitting) owner to Velsen Arkel. The truck hovered in to a loading bay after going through the solid metal gate that extended from the left side edge of the front of the warehouse and stretched over to another building behind the warehouse.

They parked the truck out of view along with three other similar vehicles, and proceeded to unload the ambassadors from the back of the truck. They were carried inside, and eventually each of them was strapped up and set in simple seats in a large, auditorium-like room.  ((I'll describe the room after your next post, Zar, you can have the ambassadors waking up now.))

As the younger kil, named Xaer Kelesus, pridefully observed his handiwork, the she-kil who was working with him quietly approached Xaer after checking all the chains on the Krathunians to see that they were firm.

"I must be going back to the Complex, now Xaer." She said in a low tone.

"Wait- Did anyone see you? Is there any reason for suspicion to fall on you?" He asked her.

"I don't think so.. Though, one of those Markovan things did try to speak to me, I ignored it, though..."

"Eh... Well, I suppose you'll be alright, Try to avoid contact with any of the military that are going to be dealing with this specifically." Xaer said.

"I'll try." She said, smiling slightly, before walking off to take the truck back to the Complex.

Nvarn nodded, starting to walk down the hallway to Straus' position. However, before he had reached the position of the Jorro'kil, he noticed an unnatural disturbance in the air close to them. His eye software highlighted the area where this was, and scanned it for heat signatures and energy. After a second it identified a living organic as the source, and Nvarn was shown a list of what species could be causing it. There were a multitude there, including Liirlith. Given the circumstances Nvarn had suspicions that it was this but wanted to keep an open mind on it. He placed a marker on the source to detect their movement before continuing to follow Straus.

One at a time, the politicians and ambassadors started to wake up, dazed and confused. As a result of the stun weapon hitting them, they suffered from headaches, though some were less affected than others. They all looked around, wondering where they were and why.

Najii was concerned. The Krathunian had acted like he had seen him. Najii ducked back a little. Then he noticed a few Jorro'kil, probably security guards, a little ways away getting out of an elevator. Acting quickly, he slid inside before the door closed, and then took the elevator to the highest level.

Carefully looking to ensure no one noticed the elevator seemingly opening of its own accord, he left and began to search around, until he found a closed off area with a sign that said "Under Renovation." Sliding inside, he checked his tracker. The vehicles had stopped moving; it would be the easiest thing in the world to find the building where the Krathunian ambassadors were being held. Najji pressed a few buttons on his wrist device. It was time to get the game started.

A few minutes later, Straus got a text message on whatever communicator he had: I have information for you that can use. Come to my location, and come alone. The message was followed by a small map showing where Najii was.

Straus almost sprinted down the hallway, worry rising in him, until he reached the door to the room which contained the Krathunians. He placed a metal card to the corresponding bar, which should have given him immediate access, but the door refused to respond and open.

"Agh." He muttered. Straus proceeded to walk back from the door, braced himself with his left arm, and charged at the door twice, the second time it fell down from the force. Inside the room, couches, large chairs and a holoscreen all sat, along with a painting on the wall, but no Krathunians.

"Du'rakk...." Straus almost growled. "Ve have a problem. Purists." He said to Nvarn. "I-" Just then the text arrived from Najii. Straus stared at it, puzzled.

"I'll have to make some security recommendations." He said. He showed Nvarn the text on his wrist COM's screen.

"Ve have anozzer intruder." He said.
_______________________________________________________________________________________________

The room in which the Krathunians sat was filled with various machinery parts, mostly from vehicles, though certain areas held weapons. Oil drippings were scattered about the floor, which was a smooth grey concrete. Large lights hund from the ceiling, casting light on the various parts and nearly complete vehicles in the large garage.

Xaer sat on stool several feet away from the Krathunians, taking apart a weapon and cleaning it. A semi-auto BA rifle. He glanced over at the ambassadors, then went back to his weapon. "Don't worry." He said without looking over at them. "He'll be here soon."

At this point, Velsen Arkel was already on his way to the Warehouse, and a grim fate awaited the Krathunians.

Suflet Călit seemed a bit confused. Night time wasn't for another seven hours or so.

He shrugged off his confusion and excitedly hopped into the Sand Crawler and motioned for them to come inside.

After all the years of living in fear of aliens, and yet the first ones the Nisip meet offer technology! Oh, the other generals will have a field day once Suflet Călit tells them the good news.

Nvarn turned to the Markovan. "Yes. For now, just help us investigate the scene. I'm not entirely sure what has happened." He then looked at the message, and the map showing where Najii was. "Ah yes, the Liirlith. I saw him a little while ago." Nvarn paused, looking around the scene, the red cybernetics in his eye slightly shifting in towards the pupil. "You'll need to be careful, Straus. Liirlith are decisive and dangerous. The message says to come alone, but I may provide backup in the shadows."

Re: \| Divided Paths |/ - Chapt. 3 - Resolute - Biome (IC)

Post by Luxembourgish on Fri Jan 24, 2014 3:34 pm

Tilus was the emperor of one of the largest empires in the Galaxy.

He was well-known as the leader of the Xikarian Empire, a trade empire ever since the end of the Ruthless War. However, he wasn't the most well-qualified emperor. He took things too personally, and let emotion and empathy get in the way of what was truly the best decision for his empire. Needless to say, the Xikarians weren't in the golden age that everyone had hoped for.

Two years after the death of Kradus, though, everything changed. Tilus came down with the same as-of-yet incurable disease that his grandfather, Rhea, had. It the worst, rarest thing that the Xikarians had ever experienced. The disease was a rare genetic disorder that shut down major organs after a period of time-- and nobody knew how to stop it.

Just three months later, his heart stopped beating, and Tilus breathed his final breath. As if to pour salt on the wound, everyone soon came to the realization that he had not picked an apprentice.

The greedy, powerful politicians gained their own followers and started to to try to take the throne. Eventually, this squabbling became a full-on war, and in three years, the peaceful Xikarian Empire had split into three factions:

The Loyalists, led by none other than Zigwin from Norcius, the Neo-Puran Xikarians, led by Rebel Leader Vyxos Kolama from Meer, and the Vilone Xikarians, led by Kham Lorezzio from Colanke.

The Loyalists, Neo-Purans, and Vilones fought in one of the worst wars ever known to Xikarians for five years in total, before the Loyalists finally invaded Meer and Colanke to finish the job.

After an eight-year war, Zigwin was now the rightful emperor of the Xikarian Empire. He was charismatic, had great leadership skills, and was generally likable. He oped up trade again, practically flooding his empire with money and luxuries. He fixed many problems that went unheeded during the reign of Tilus. The families of the lost soldiers from the two wars finally got what they deserved.

With the rule of Emperor Zigwin, a golden age has come that wasn't seen for nearly forty-nine years.

****

For the Vil-Nolwikkans, it was business as usual. There was always a war going on somewhere in or out of the empire, so news of the end of the Ruthless War and the Xikelic Civil War were met mostly with an interested glance, and nothing more.

However, behind the closed doors of the palace at Kanakka, a storm was brewing. Archlord Reskullus was developing new and dangerous technology. During the height of the Xikelic Civil War, a new tool was invented: the mining laser. It superheated particles so hot that they'd literally melt or burn away in seconds, depending on what it was made of.

The military was always developing new weapons for use on the battlefield. This, however, if able to be mass-produced, would revolutionize the way that Vil-Nolwikkans fight forever.

The rule of Archlord Reskullus brought a prosperous age upon the empire, but if only they knew that it wasn't to last forever...

The three Nevarzians acknowledged the Nisip's beckoning, and climbed back into the sand crawler.

______________________________________________________________________________________________

Straus thought over the events for a moment.

"I think...I know who may be behind ze kidnapping, atleast partially, and if she has not left for good, then ve may have something to find the ambassadors with. But for now, let's address zis..Liirlith." He said.

He walked back around the corner, and turned to stare at the Markovans. He then noticed the Jorro'kil UCU soldiers examining the site where the EMP grenade went off, and also helping the Krathunian guards outside. He sprinted over to them, and told them to watch closely over the Markovan ambassadors. He then proceeded towards the same elevator which Najii had used. He stepped on, and held the door open for the Krathunian. The elevator became somewhat claustrophobic with the Krathunian's size, though the Jorro'kil was still easily able to fit due to his slim build. It went up, the ride lasting roughly two minutes, until it reached the top floor, and the two got off.

Straus knew where Najii was from glancing at the given location and his knowledge of the Complex, and walked until he reached the room under construction.

He let his hand gently rest on his plasma pistol, secured his helmet, and activated the night vision feature. He threw open the door to the room, being one of simple wood for easy access to the site, but did not enter.

"I vill not come in unless you show yourself to me directly." He stated in a loud voice.

Nazzi strode back and forth restlessly. Her two guards were searching the area, while Tissin supervised. Suddenly Nazzi came over to Tissin.

"I don't like this at all. I wonder how much Straus knows about the Liirlith."

"I couldn't say, Ma'am," replied Tissin.

"Very well," said a sibilant voice from the area. "If you wish to reccceive my information without entering, I can reccciprcate." The voice seemed to be moving from one place to the other, as if whoever was in there was keeping on constant motion to make it more difficult to track him down. "I'm afraid," continued the voice, "that revealing mysssself directly isssss out of the quessstion at thissss time. However, I can sssstill give you the information you need from where you are."

There was a brief period of silence, in which Straus' communicator beeped. Looking at it, he found he had been sent coordinates. "I hope that information issss ussseful," said the voice. Then there was silence. A moment later, there was the sound of a window being opened somewhere in the construction area, and a quick check found that the one window was indeed open.

Najii climbed agilely down the side of the building. Once on the ground, he hurried off, heading for where his tracker said the trucks had gone, the same coordinates he had just sent to Straus.

Najii would have stayed longer where he had been, but he sensed that doing so was unwise. Now that he had handed over his information, it was time to offer assistance to the other side.

"I lost him, though I am sure he's up to no good," Nvarn exclaimed as his tactical cloak faded away. The Krathunian stood behind Straus, his marksman's rifle held up to his faced and pointing into the room. For the duration of the conversation Nvarn had his tactical marker planted on Najii, and had been able to see the Liirlith in the darkness rather than simply his size and shape. As he spoke the rifle moved from place to place - If Najii had made an aggressive move, Nvarn would have been able to rapidly shoot him in dozens of places that would severely cripple the Liirlith but not kill him.

The rifle itself looked strange. Though it maintained the general shape of a ranged weapon, the barrel was slightly longer than others, and the scope was slightly smaller than most, largely due to the cybernetic implants. The rifle had red, glowing lights along the sides, barrel and forestock. Interestingly enough the butt of the rifle seemed to extend directly from Nvarn's gauntlet, allowing his right arm to very comfortably grasp the handle. As he lowered his arm the rifle came back into the armor, the glow dying away.

"We should go to those coordinates, though we will have to stay on guard."

The Ryun-Wreae Federation frigate Enigma sped through warp, heading out of the inner Ieegan systems. Commander Ilinya stood at the bridge, her insectoid hands crossed as she stared at a holographic map of the galaxy. It displayed the ship's current location as well as several areas of interest glowing in red. These were the origins of suspicious activity, potentially those of Dominion origin. Around four of them were scattered in different places throughout the stars. Tenalin and Dalinthus stood next to her, pondering over the map. Ilinya looked to the two other Ryun of the squad and let a sigh slowly escape from her mouth.

"As of now," She began, stepping back a bit from the map. "We don't know which of these is where the former Dominion race is. These are all the origins of suspicious and unknown signals - they could lead us anywhere, from uncharted UFIAI planets to those of races we've never heard of before." She turned to a Wreae technician overlooking the COMM device. "Set our communications arrays to intercept signals from the nearest two targets. We need to investigate these one by one." The machine saluted before making the needed adjustments. Ilinya rotated back to the map and simply watched.

"Agreed." Straus said. "I don't have any of ze files on ze Liirlith presently, please, tell me all you know about zem."  Straus and Nvarn quickly headed back to the elevator, which took them back down to the entrance room. Straus took a right after they exited the elevator, down a sloped hallway. It stopped thirty or so feet down, though two other hallways two the left and right allowed continuation.
They took the left, and down this hallway was a short subpassage which lead to a locked door, itself leading to the outside motorpool. Straus walked up to the door, slid a metallic card onto the corresponding bar, and was granted access. He held open the door for Nvarn, then proceeded through himself. They walked under the cover of a rectangular metal roof extending from the building for several feet, until reaching the main courtyard with various vehicles in it, along with refueling stations. Straus was about to approach a truck, when one of the same type pulled in after an electric gate deactivated to allow it. He motioned for Nvarn to back up out of sight, as he did himself.

The Jorro'kil who got out of the truck was the one that Straus was suspicious of earlier, and he started to approach her openly. "Hello, Xeva." He said. She startled, turning to see him coming. "O-oh.. Ah, hello, ah, Straus. Straus Xuvehr, right?" She said.

"Yes, zat's it."

"Now tell us, how is it that you're out zis late, hmm?" He asked her, arms folded.

"Well, I was-"
"I know vat you vere doing." He cut her off. "I zink you're going to be answering a lot more questions soon." He put a hand on her right shoulder.  "You know vorking vith the purists to harm or kill any allied aliens is a very serious thing, don't you?"

"Look, I don't know what you're-"
"Yes, you do." He said. "You might as vell tell us vere you took them, it will be better for you in ze end."

She stood silent for a moment, red hair moving slightly in the cool wind.

"No. It won't." She said.

Najii checked his tracker. This was the place all right. This was where the Krathunians were being held. Now it was time to begin the next part of this game.

Finding a chute (most likely an emergency fire exit), he scrambled up it, eventually making his way into the building. Once inside, he quickly began to search the plae. It didn't take him long to locate the hostages. He took careful note of their position, as well as Xaer guarding them.

His then tried to find someone in authority, but found no one who seemed to fit the bill. Perhaps the leader was not here yet. Najii took up a position closest to what he considered the most logical place for someone to enter, and waited.

Krim stepped up onto the podeum, all the while thinking about whether this was the right move. Coming here to this galaxy alone will probably cost him his job let alone the fact that he may never return. But he can't turn back now, him and all the people he has gathered have come to far to far to turn back now. So with a deep breath filling his three lungs he picked up the microphone, coughed to clear his throat, and began his speech.

"To every felinite in this ruthless, cold and dark galaxy. We have all come here to try and make this galaxy a better place. We have left our old lives, probably for ever. And when or even if we return we will never be the same. But as felinites we strive to end conflicts and induce friendships and alliances. Universal peace has always been our quest and even here we must make a difference, no we can make a difference. For the good of this galaxy and all others. We have already heard nasty tales about some of the races in this galaxy from passing traders, many of them laughed at me when I said I'd never heard of the Dominion or the Jorro'kil. We may not know much about this galaxy but our first order of business must be to set up our base of operations and find allies to help our cause. Only through diplomacy can peace be achieved so with those final words, let's get to work."

Krim put the microphone down, gave a sigh of relief, and stepped down from the podium with an uneasy smile on his face.

Several seconds after the conversation with Xeva began, Nvarn slowly exited cloak, stealthily coming up to the pair. None of his weapons were present, though he would be able to draw them at the blink of an eye. Compared to both Jorro'kil the Krathunian was large and imposing, and had his helmet down to allow for the two of them to see his expressions. As soon as Straus called Xeva out on her alignment Nvarn was next to him, watching the she-kil.

After Xeva stated her last words, Nvarn grabbed the part of her arm directly under the shoulder. He gripped hard enough to show that he had above average strength due to his implants. "I am Sentinel Nvarn Reventus," He growled, smiling slightly. "Under the jurisdiction of both the Jorro'kil Free Absolute and the Intragalactic Krathunian Covenant of Sethega, you're going to tell us what happened."

She glanced at Nvarn with a despising look, then smiled.

"It doesn't matter, you can't win even if I tell you." She said.

Straus shook his head, saying, "I know vhat happened to you, back during ze Dominion Var, but you cannot just disregard ze worth of any ozzer form of life. You have to tell us."

"Yeah, sure, and everything will be just fine." She huffed. "No, see, this is where we make ourselves known. You can't just silence our voice."

Straus started tp pace around.

"Nvarn, come here for a moment." He said, then looked at Xeva. "Any attempts to run vill be futile so please, don't waste your time." He said to her. She just stood by the truck, looking at the ground.

"Look, zis one is obviously a zealot for her cause. Ve have to try somezing different. Her disregard for your people and ze alignment that ze majority of our people have could possibly be used against her. Let me try somezing."

He walked back over to Xeva.

"So, you zink zat all alien life is worthless, worthy only of conquer, at the most an honorable death, yes?" He said.  "Ze removal of....ze imperfect. But let's consider for a moment, how you might be viewed in the eyes of an alien. Perhaps, ze Karthla. You vould be just anozzer peice of meat, not worthy of anything..... So, perhaps, you vould be more willing to obey if we adopted zheir point of view for a moment." He disconnected his Plasma Pistol form his thigh armor, and held it up to her head.

She hesitated for a moment , not sure if he would actually shoot her. She remained silent.

"Vone...Two...." He started to count. But before he could reach three, she almost screamed, "OK OK!" She held up her hands.  "Look, we took them to a warehouse, if you check the truck's TRS you can see the route."

Straus opened the door to the driver's compartment, and reached down to retrieve a cube locked in a storage space next to the driver's seat, took it out, and set it in an upload port in his helmet.  He saw the route in his HUD, but then recognized a familiarity with it. He glanced at his wrist COM, tapping a button on the holographic screen, to pull up the message from the Liirlith. The same end coordinates. He walked over to Nvarn, handing him the TRS cube to upload the route.

"Strange, vhy vould it have ze same end coordinates?" He asked in a quiet voice.

"Anyhow, ve need to turn her in." He turned his head slightly to motion towards Xeva.

Velsen Arkel arrived at the warehouse, along with a few other purists. He walked inside the facility, and into the large garage, greeting Xaer, and congratulating him on his work in kidnapping the Krathunians. Velsen walked over, closer to the hostages, and spoke to them all.

"Now, we are not animals, so your deaths won't be long and painful, no, but rest assured, they will come." He said.

"First, we need to make a point." He said.

Nvarn nodded. "Of course, Straus." With one quick motion he grasped Xeva's hands, pinning them behind her back. An energy knife, glowing blue, jutted out of his armor and slid into his hand. He started to walk towards Straus and the truck. While he did this he deftly flipped the knife, slipping it between his armored fingers and twirling it. The motions were mesmerizing to a degree. This was insurance in case Xeva tried something.

"Commander, ma'am, we're picking up unknown activity in this sector," A Wreae said as it approached Ilinya, motioning to the galaxy map. She stared forward for a couple seconds before looking to the machine.

"Show the origins of these signals on the map." The Wreae nodded, transmitting the information to the hologram display and then entering a couple commands on the console. The suspected area was zoomed into, the signal sources highlighted in blue. Ilinya observed before saying, "Alright everyone, let's head in."

Soon after, the Enigma warped into view, engines glowing blue. They were in an area, unbeknownst to Ilinya and the rest of her crew, very close to the Felinites. Ilinya, however, had detected energy signatures within the area on the ship's computer that signified that something, or someone, was nearby. She activated the COMM device, eager to see what this area held.

"This is the frigate Engima of the Ryun-Wreae Federation of the United Ieegan Systems and the Confederacy. We've detected communications signals and energy signatures so far unknown to the Confederate civilizations of Ravena in this area and have come to investigate. We are not hostile, simply conducting an investigation. Please acknowledge, over."

The Krathunian representatives stared up at Velsen, with different emotions scattered across the room. Some were shaking, not expecting to have been in this situation. Others accepted their fates, hanging their heads but listening to the Jorro'kil. However, the majority stared defiantly up, their eyes blazing like an inferno and their resolve unshaken.

Re: \| Divided Paths |/ - Chapt. 3 - Resolute - Biome (IC)

The Xikarians were in top shape after the recovery.

The Xikarians aboard starship Phoenix were celebrating its 35th anniversary. The normally quiet bridge was filled with sounds of celebration. This normally wouldn't be very exciting, but the scientists and soldiers aboard never had time to celebrate. Of course, they were all surprised when the new captain of the Phoenix, Captain Vise Yolan, announced a "celebration day." He knew that his hard-working soldiers needed a break, and this, he thought, was the perfect time.

Even with celebration in the air, though, the Xikarians still had to work. You can't have a pirate attack at this crucial moment, can you?

A Xikarian noticed an unanswered transmission on his screen. He alerted Vise Yolan, who was writing in his journal in his quarters. Slightly annoyed, he closed his journal and stood up from his desk. This had better be important, the irritable captain thought to himself. However, when he saw what his worker had discovered, his irritation evaporated.

"Yolan! We've picked up a transmission from an unknown race not far from here," The worker, Kiram Toork told Vise.

"Kiram, find the address of the sender, and prepare a video transmission when you have," Vise ordered. Kiram nodded and began to work.
In less than a minute, a transmission was sent from the Phoenix to the unknown sender, Krim of the Felinites.

"Greetings," Vise's voice could be heard in the transmission. "Your transmission has reached our ship, starship Phoenix of the Xikarian Empire. Please respond when you have received our transmission, and give us a better idea of your coordinates. We mean no harm. Over."

Krim was in the middle of solving a puzzle cube when a call came in.

"Ambassador Krim. Two transmissions just came through."
"*Sigh* It better not be those sails people from before. Patch the first one through to me and send the second one over to Ilmire."

"This is Ambassador Krim of the Felinites. We got your transmission and I'm very much glad your not that soap merchant from earlier.

"Ilmire. You have an incoming transmission"
"Finally." Said a Young felinite girl with a slightly boyish tone to her voice. "Quick, play it through."

"Greetings, your transmission has reached our ship, starship Phoenix of the Xikarian Empire. Please respond when you have received our transmission, and give us a better idea of your coordinates. We mean no harm. Over."
"This is Ilmire of the Felinites, we are pleased to meet you. Our current base of operations is on the planet Poknaria, near the end of this galaxy's forth arm.

"Ve'll take her back inside." Straus said as Nvarn neared. They backtracked to the Complex entrance room, but took the elevator up to the Complex's second level. Straus walked the Krathunian and Xeva to the section with holding cells. He explained the situation to the current officer on duty, who promptly took Xeva back and placed her in a cell. Straus and Nvarn headed back outside, and towards a truck in the motorpool.

"I'm not quite sure if you'll fit, ve may have to find another vehicle." He said, motioning to the truck's passenger compartment, which was constructed for the commonly seven-feet tall Jorro'kil.

Nvarn shook his head, observing the general area. "It's fine. I'm able to run faster than most vehicles. It's probably better if we split up anyhow, I can meet you there, though it may be wise to elicit the aid of the Markovans." With that, the Krathunian turned and walked down the street, slowly fading into his tactical cloak as a light, humid breeze blew.

The transmission sent back to the Enigma ran through several translation devices, as it was not in the intergalactic tongue. After a short while, Krim's message was fully understandable to the Ryun-Wreae, having been translated into both the intergalactic and Federation language.

Ilinya listened to the message a couple times, considering the Felinite's words. Most species, when contacted in a situation such as this, used military officials. However, she had been greeted instead by an Ambassador. This implied that the Felinites were not aggressive, and instead were pacifists. The fact that Krim was an ambassador led Ilinya to also ask if this new species was not from Ravena. Hastily, she responded.

"This is Commander Ilinya of the Enigma. The Felinites are a new race to I and most others within the galaxy. As far as I know, you are new the community of Ravena. Negotiations between the people of the Confederacy and yours would be beneficial to both parties. What is your current location?"

Krim responded to the Enigma's transmission. "We are currently based at the planet Poknaria in the fourth arm approximately 10,000 light years from the point of your transmission."

Suflet Călit pushes the button to start the Sand Crawler's engine. It booted up and gently began cruising back to the city. Suflet Călit, being a tad impatient, revved up the speed, but not too much. He wouldn't want to get in another crash, especially with the Nisip's new 'business partners'.

Upon reaching the town, a few of the more brave Nisip walked out and grabbed some dropped groceries and such, only to run back into their homes afterwards.

Suflet Călithad parked the Sand Crawler without any explosions and would hop out right after the Nevarzians would.
