Animals

Species: Mongrillian

Appearance: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Rarity: Extremely Common

Information: The Gildresh equivalent of a mongoose or meerkat, Mongrillians are small, growing to be only about 1'5" in length from head to tail, and standing at about 0'5" at the shoulder. They have two-toed paws on each foot, the ones on the hind leg being slightly larger. They have long torsos, and despite being able to run about 15 miles per hour, seem very uncoordinated. However, this is only an illusion, as they are actually very coordinated hunters, capable of killing prey twice their own size. They hunt by chasing their prey to the point of exhaustion, before delivering a bite on the neck to sever the spinal chord. They have teeth like a rodent's, which never stop growing, and must be ground down by gnawing. They have bushy tails, like a squirrel, which allows them to balance on their hind legs at times. They have thick brown scaly skin, with red stripes. They are traditionally hunted for food and their skin, which can provide insulating clothing.

Species: Tuskilant

Appearance: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Rarity: Uncommon

Information: Tuskilants are a Gildreshian equivalent of elephants, and are relatively the same size, growing to be about 8'0" tall, and possessing long trunks. The ridge of their nose and the front of their skulls have thick armor plates, which are important in fights between males when competing for a mate, or when any Tuskilant fights over territory. They have two pairs of tusks, one large and curved, and the other below the larger set, much smaller. They have thick, stocky bodies with three toes on each foot. Their large ears are used in keeping themselves cool, when there are rare occasions that they are found in a desert. However, they are mostly used for intimidation. Their thick skin is scaly, with blue stripes. A Tuskilant can feed an entire family for days, and their skin is among the best for providing insulation from the cold, however, they are fearsome in combat, and a single charge can kill a man. Therefore, to kill one is an incredible feat of strength as well.

Species: Shroudsaurus

Appearance: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Rarity: Rare

Information: A Shroudsaurus is among one of the most fearsome predators on Gildresh. They can grow to be about 6'4" tall, and 6'7" from head to tail. As their name suggests, they are dinosaur-like, and possess large, feather-like tufts around their arms and backs, forming their namesake shrouds. Their arms are short, with two fingers that do little in regards to handling things. Their legs are large and muscular, with raptor-like feet. The tips of their tails are spikes, and when threatened, they can sling them around and shoot toxic purple slime at the offender. Their necks are thick and powerful, supporting their strong skulls. Their teeth are razor-sharp, making their bite particularly painful. They have fan-like ears, and twisted horns, resembling a dragon. Their eyes are yellow and slitted, like a reptiles. Instead of scales, they have thick swampy brown fur, with green stripes. Their underbelly is a shade of grey. Despite their fearsome appearance, some people have described them as lady-like, due to the appearance of their shrouds. They are incredibly territorial, and are known to attack anything that trespasses, regardless of species. Their fur is the absolute best insulator against heat and cold, and is prized and expensive. Due to this beast being so rare, only rich government officials are capable of obtaining it. It is a great feat to successfully kill a Shroudsaurus.

Species: Hearing Hound

Appearance: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Rarity: Common

Information: Hearing Hounds are among some of the best hunters on Gildresh, possessing some of the most powerful auditory senses in on the entire planet. They grow to be about 5'0" long from head to tail, and stand at 4'0" at the shoulder. Their large, fan-like 'wings' are actually ears, which can detect even the slightest sounds. Their tails are long and lizard like, with tufts of fur at the tips. They have fur on their back, as well. Their snouts are blunt, and their teeth are sharp, like a canine's. They have three eyes, one in the center of their head, and two on the side. Behind them, they have smaller fan-like ears, and two insect-like antennae. They have long, muscular legs, and four-toed paws on each foot. They hunt by chasing down their prey in packs, and both domestic and wild variants can be found. They have greyish fur, with dark red fur on their legs. Although sometimes they are raised for their fur, they are traditionally used as guard dogs.
