Hypothetical question Empty Hypothetical question

So we've always had a dream of making an RG game. While we are FAR from ever getting to that point, I do wonder, what would you like to see in a game that would potentially simulate the entire RG story?

The first thing that came to mind when I thought of a Ruthless Galaxy game was a 2d fighter. Partly because I wanted Kradus and Praedromus to be boss characters.

Ehh, maybe not.

Back on topic: I think that a turn-based strategy game, like Civilization or Fire Emblem (Or even Project S.T.E.A.M, if you know what that is. If not, look it up). Much of RG's story depends on interstellar politics, so maybe instead of selecting a single person, you can take control of a small nation and try to have it survive the chaos of the current wars. Maybe you could take control of a single army and lead it on a campaign against the Dominion or the Terminus Pact, or maybe it could be a tower defense-type game.

Ruthless Galaxy as it is would be impossible to fully fit into a single game with a single genre. There's tons of aspects that could be covered.

I can see it as anything, really. Ruthless Galaxy could encompass so many different genres. An RTS might be cool, or a first person shooter. I think something like Civilization or Fire Emblem would also be great. A 2D fighter would also be really interesting.

I think it would better as a RPG third or first person shooter. Because all of the species have different perks and abilities and the story could be based on the main rps while side quests could be the minor rps.

Zaroas seems to be going somewhere with a strategy game like Fire Emblem, but I reckon Intelligent System's other series Advance Wars would fit better gameplay-wise. That way the number of races doesn't bloat the number of characters (you'd only get a few generals) and you get a large number of faceless grunts for the army. Slap on a good plot and badaboom, I'd play it.

A shooter like Star Wars Battlefront would work well also, as in that the races have three-ish generic troops and a couple of specialised units exclusive to that race.

Yeah I agree with the RPG concept. I go back and forth on third and first person. Honestly both could work with RG. Some games allow you to make the choice.

I always imagined playing on the side of the Confederacy, seeing as it is essentially the moral light of the story and most of the big main characters (Xej, Lamor, UR, etc) are in the Confed. The main character though, would be a challenge to decide, seeing as our focus changes between several mains. Though I would think it would be Xej for a while, just because of how involved Xej has always been and how long he's been around.
