All he felt was nothing. The cold wind was chilling, but even that was not as powerful as it had once been. Years ago, had Timur stood on the same spot, he would have had to flee from the blizzard, his face frostbitten within a matter of minutes. But now, he could go for hours, before he even mildly felt pain. He wore a Mongrillian jacket, like most people, but that could not hide the jumpsuit, which had once supported power armor. You could just barely make out the abbreviations IFGE, which was almost nonexistent, his clothing faded and tattered. His hair had grown long and tangled since he had fled. It blew in the frozen wind, whipping his face with raven locks.

He wished to rest, but he knew he could not. They would catch up if he stopped to rest. They would not cease to search for him. They said he was confused, that he ran out of sheer insanity. That was a lie. Timur was not insane. He was probably the soundest individual on the planet, compared to them. Their ideas were sheer nonsense, and he was a fool to believe them. He could never reverse what they had done. He could not let them catch him.

On the other side of the planet, a young girl was charging through a forest of conifers, gracefully dodging every tree. She moved so fast that she was barely visible. When she was finally satisfied, she sat down under a tree, a light snowfall around her. That should stump them. Sniffer hounds were trained to track a scent exactly, and a trail like that would distract them for ages. By the time they managed to find her trail again, she would be miles away, setting the next trap for them to fall into.

Alexis was running, but she wasn’t going to flee as fast as her body would allow. She would set traps, and while everyone was distracted with them, she would walk away, free of concern for a time. They would once more have another puzzle to solve, courtesy of the insane girl they were trying to find. Like Timur before they fled, she was originally wearing power armor. However, she had stripped all technology from it, guaranteeing that they would not find an energy signature. Her hair was long before she ran, and it now fell to her waist. In her travels, she had sought a way to stay warm, when the cold had been more effective. She had later come across a Tuskilant, and knowing the capabilities of its fur, slain it, forming a jacket from its skin, and taking as much meat as possible for food. It also made her fierce, in the eyes of others. Only someone truly strong could kill a beast that dangerous.

However, that was a long time ago. She barely needed the jacket, but it provided a disguise, at least one that could trick the eye with a small glance. Otherwise, it was useless. Alexis didn’t mind scaring anyone. It made them want to let her go. However, they couldn’t do that. She was too valuable to catch and release, if they could even find her.

Christal entered the cafeteria, carefully making sure that the door didn’t close on her tail, as it traditionally did. Something about that automated entrance didn’t like her, as she had come to think. Today they were serving the usual, roasted Mongrillian. It was a relatively common meat, but compared to what most families had in serving size, it was a feast. Most people who arrived on their first day had to be watched when they ate in the cafeteria. Their stomachs were not made for such rich fare. But they got used to it, and gradually got more freedom.

Sadly, it seemed that there were not many people to begin with. One would have thought children would leap at the opportunity to feed their families, and that was mostly true, but this was different. There were only about fifty kids that had agreed to it. Sighing, she grabbed her tray and walked over to a table, setting down her tray and beginning to eat.

Giuseppe was slightly shaken after his first serum treatment. He entered the cafeteria and was handed a tray of Mongrillian meat, dry from being roasted slightly too long. While the meat was bland, it was still much better fare than he had was used to, and even better, he didn't have to fight for it. Giuseppe had never been very good at making friends, due to the fact that his lifestyle forced him to be constantly on the move. And here, even the general respect he had received in the past due to his proficiency with the Harmian longsword and his possession of an ancient pistol seemed not to be extant. It seemed that even with his great strength he was only average at the IFGE. They had allowed him to keep his longsword, which he carried in a sheath on his back, as well as a small wooden flute, a gift his father had given him before his early death. All in all, he made an impressive figure, clad as he was in dark, spiked leather.

Giuseppe took a moment to refocus mentally. The treatments were more difficult than he had expected. He looked around for a place to sit, finally choosing a spot two seats down from a female Chimerosu, one he had seen before several times throughout the complex. Giuseppe took a swig from his glass of water, then set about eating his meat, pondering his situation.

(just a note, the serum is only given once)

Christal could see someone sit a little further down the table out of the corner of her vision. She turned, looking at him and blinking her yellow eyes once, before returning to peck at her own meal. Her beak easily tore through the meat. Unlike most people, who had lived in the colder areas, Christal had lived in the band of desert around the planet's equator. She wasn't able to fly anywhere else, because the cold froze her wings. However, despite being adapted to such hot, arid conditions, it was no easier for her. Food was incredibly scarce, most species adapted with thick furs and skins, which made the desert too hot for them. There were seldom predators, and most of what her people ate was carrion. There was nobody to kill for them. Christal had been lucky the IFGE had found her.

Lak'Jzen was feeling rather shakey after his first serum treatment. They had him put to sleep, then performed the tests. When he woke up, he was standing, somehow, outside the office he had just come in for his tests. He went in the IFGE building wearing plain clothes, but he was clad in some type of armor when he came out. It was not Power Armor, but it seemed sturdy enough. It was a there was, however, a cafeteria next door. He looked around, his chills and unsureness started to wear off, the strange feeling that somehting had been done to him, something that was good or bad? He knew not, he only knew this strangeness had not left him.

He put both hands behind his neck, so his elbows were in an outstretched position. He was wondering what to do. Civilians passed by him, trying not to look Lak'Jzen in the eye. This was not only because his personality was one of secrets, but aggression, aswell as the fact that, as far as he knew, he was the only Jorro'kil on the Planet.

Having nothing else to do, he gathered up his thoughts, and walked over to the cafeteria door. He opened it.

Lak'Jzen walked inside, and surveyed the relatively calm place. It wasn't the cleanest if places, but it had something to eat, which was something he suddenly needed.

He walked over to one of the rotating meat trays, and picked up a platter of meat. He took a small glass of water to go with it.

Now he had to find a place to sit. Then it happened. a slight pulsing, all over his body. His head included. It didn't make him fall over or faint, and it only lasted a second, but for that second he was paralyzed, as his muscles, and his brain, began to feel the effects of the experiments. After the strange pulsing effect was over, he felt, just slightly, stronger. Regaining his thoughts, Lak'Jzen proceeded to sit down by Harmian and a Chimerosu, either of which he had never seen before. He sat several booths down from them.

(The Agency has a lot of technology, but they don't usually let the soldiers have it.)

Just as Christal turned to examine the Jorro'kil, who was wearing a brand-new kevlar vest, her communication watch blinked with a little blue light. She sighed and tapped the tiny screen interface. Usually, the IFGE wouldn't let their super soldier recruits touch any form of technology, although the watches were an exception. The watches were used to call in certain individuals for missions, and they were also used to show them information, such as maps. "This is Agent Christal." She said, speaking into the watch. "Agent Christal, report to conference room 102A for mission briefing." With that short message, the watch blinked off. "My first official mission!" She cried, jumping up and running out of the cafeteria, forgetting to pick up her tray.

(You can decide if you want to come along with this.)

Lak'Jzen clearly overheard the sudden disruption of the relative quietness of the cafeteria. He would have heard this anyway, but the noise was somehow increased, to an extent larger than that it would normally have been. He did, however, ignore all that was said, it was none of his business, and he wasn't one to poke his beak into other's business. He continued to eat his meat, finished it, took a big swig of water, swallowed it, and stood up from the booth. He walked passed the Harmian, and out the Cafeteria Door.

Christal hurried to the designated meeting room, where two agents, wearing black bulletproof vests were guarding the door. They ushered her inside, shut it behind her, narrowly avoiding catching her tail, and returned to barring entry. The walls were padded and black, and a stainless steel table was in the center, with chairs around it. A man in a black suit sat across from her, and she took a seat at the other end of the table. "Agent Christal, thank you for coming." He said. Christal nodded, "Thank you, sir. What's the situation?" She asked. "We just received intel on Sivera. President Nicolae is on the move. Something shady is going on, and we want you to find out what it is they're doing down there." He said. "Nice." She said, as he walked over and handed her a microchip. When placed into her watch, it would give her mission plans and such. "You can't do this alone." He said, just as she was about to get up. "What?" She asked. "We have some rookies that just came in. Take them with you." He said. "I'll buzz them in." He said, as he pressed a button. Meanwhile, he slid two files over to her. The names were Agents Giuseppe and Lak'Jzen. "Sir! The files say they just got their serum today!" She exclaimed. "There are plenty of others much more capable!" The Agent held up his hand to hush her as the speakers turned on, "Agents Lak'Jzen and Giuseppe, please report to conference room 102A for mission briefing." He said. He then turned it off, turning back to her. "I understand this, but their species are physically much stronger than others. They should be able to hold their own on this mission, even without developed enhancements like yours. You are the oldest super soldier since Agents Alexis and Timur. You have had your serum for five months, and are capable of leading a team of fresh recruits."

Lak'Jzen suddenly heard a voice in his "ear" which said: "Agents Lak'Jzen and Giuseppe, please report to conference room 102A for mission briefing."

They had addressed him, but why? Why should he go? He was an agent now? This was strange, it all happening so soon. He really had just come in for the serum treatments which were advertized on several walls near the IFGE buildings, he wasn't one for reading the fine print. But, when duty calls, you must go. So, he did. Lak'Jzen neevr heard of conference room 102A, but hey, he could easily find it.

Lak'Jzen headed inside the IFGE building, walked over to the reception, and asked as kindly as he could "Where's Conference room 102A?" His voice was gruff, but it seemed to work, and the receptionist gave him directions to the room.

He walked down several corridors until he doubled-back at what at first appeared to be another hallway, but was really a door marked with "102A" which was guarded by two humanoids dressed in black wearing what seemed to be bullet-proof vests.

They quickly opened the door and let him inside. The door shut silently behind him.

The others in the room stared at him for a moment, clad in almost full-body armor. Most of it was some sort of cheap metal, but the chest peice was a Kevlar vest.

"Uh....Hi." Said Lak'Jzen.

Giuseppe was still eating his meat when he heard his name called. He suddenly felt a nervous chill run through his body as he wondered what they could possibly want with him. He had only just received his treatment, and he feared something had gone wrong.

As he had been eating, he had noticed an odd sensation building in his body. It wasn't that he felt stronger or smarter than he had been the day before. It felt more like he just had more energy and more focus than he had before. Now, though, he wasn't sure if he was ready to face what might happen in room 102A. He assumed that he and Lak'Jzen had both rejected the serum or something, and would be forced to leave the facility.

However, despite his doubts, Giuseppe politely asked one of the adults how to find room 102A and walked there. Two guards opened the door and let him in. A humanoid of some species he had not encountered but recognized from the cafeteria still stood near the door. He assumed that this was Lak'Jzen. The Chimerosu was also there, sitting at a steel table across from a man in a black suit. Giuseppe, unsure what was expected of him, resorted to his natural Harmian stoicism and simply stood there, waiting to see what would happen.

The agent nodded, "Thank you for coming. I am aware that you are new here, and that this may seem very sudden, however, I believe that this mission is more fitting to your abilities." He said, sliding two watches across the table to them. Christal took them and handed them to the two rookies. It was funny, she had just seen them in the lunch room. "These communication watches already have the data for our mission on them. All we have to do is follow." She said. The agent nodded before speaking again. "We have recently received intel on the country of Sivera. You may have heard of it, and it's president and dictator, Nicolae." He said. "Nicolae has been known to engage in many secret activities, which gives us reason to suspect him of spying on other countries, and developing super weapons. Word has it that he's on the move again. That's where you come in. Agent Christal, will you explain the rest?" He asked, nodding at the Chimerosu. She nodded, "Our mission is to infiltrate a compound in the Siverian mountain range, and retrieve a copy of the files on main computer's hard drive without being caught. Should we be spotted, we get out as quickly as possible, and abort the mission. If we are captured, we must not disclose any information. Anyone who does will be deemed a traitor to the organization." She said, as though she were reciting a paper. The agent nodded, "Please proceed to the technician's room for your tools. Christal will be team captain." He said, pressing another button, upon which a wall slid open, revealing it to be a secret door. Inside, the walls appeared to be made of steel, and florescent lights made a bright glare. Christal nodded and proceeded in, where an old man sat at a stainless steel desk. Laid out in front of him were several frequency jammers, zip line guns, three grenades, spray starch (For those invisible lazers), as well as earbuds, and three pairs of goggles, which had both heat vision and night vision settings. These were the tools they were allowed to bring with them. "These are all essentials for your mission. I am also permitting you to take these." The old man said, placing three small-caliber pistols on the table. "Don't tell anyone. This wasn't on the approved list." He said. "However, guns, and several rounds of ammo, I believe, would be helpful." He said, placing several bullet cartridges on the desk as well. Christal dipped her beak, "Thank you, sir."

Giuseppe's fears were assuaged, and he was more than a little excited to go on his first mission. He was also a little bit wary, however. He had never seen that much tech in one place in his life. The old man had laid out so many pieces of equipment, and Giuseppe was unfamiliar with most of them. Finally, though, he placed three pistols on the desk. Giuseppe breathed an internal sigh of relief. This was one piece of equipment he knew he would be comfortable with.

Thanking the old man for the guns, Giuseppe looked for a place to carry his, only to remember that the IFGE had taken his holster when they took his pistol. He set it down, and started testing out the other equipment. He put the goggles on and flipped a switch, startling himself when he saw the old man in front of him turn a bright orange color. After that, he decided to proceed with a little more caution. The Chimerosu, whom he now knew to be Christal, seemed to know what she was doing with the equipment, and so he followed her lead, watching how she prepared each item and doing the same. Giuseppe had been in the Siverian mountain range once, but it was a long time ago and he doubted he would remember anything about it. Regardless, he was beginning to feel ready for the coming trials.

After preparing herself with one grenade, three signal jammers, a pistol, some ammo, a zip line gun, and finally, her goggles and spray starch, she nodded to the others. "Okay, now, I know you just got here, but I should probably warn you, the IFGE is dead serious about their agents keeping this place a secret. The serum isn't easy to make, and it's even worse if it gets into the wrong hands. We already have a pretty high risk of being caught, since the original soldiers ran away, and we haven't been able to catch them. I was the first solder to get the serum after them, so just follow my lead if you aren't sure what to do." She said. "Come on, our transport is probably waiting. It should take an hour to get to the drop zone." She said. They were going to parachute to the location, which would probably scare everyone. Christal actually needed one, too, because it was too cold for her wings to work properly. She handed them earmuffs. "You might want to put those on. The chopper is pretty loud." She said, as she exited to another door. This led outside, where a soft snowfall had started. A pathway led to a landing pad, and a helicopter was there, a pilot stationary in the seat. She got into the plane. She started to speak again, her voice coming over a radio of sorts, "Now, keep in mind, they aren't going to land. We're going to have to parachute, me included. My wings don't work in this kind of weather."

Lak'Jzen smiled for a moment, at the equipment and the mission overall.
"This is going to be fun." He quietly said to himself. Lak'Jzen walked over to the tabl where the tools were, and picked up a pistol, some ammo cartridges, a pair of Night/heat vision goggles, a grenade, spray starch, two signal jammers, and a zip line gun. His armor seemed to have some sort of magnetic property, which allowed him to simply clip the pistol to his thigh armor. He placed the goggles aotp his head, the grenade in a cheap, leather pouch on his armor's belt, and put the zip line gun on the other side of his thigh armor.

"Ready to go, then." Said Lak'Jzen.

He followed Christal to the launch pad, heard her speak clearly, despite the noise of the chopper, put on his earplugs to mute out the sound of the chopper, and hopped aboard it.

He, now despite the earplugs, clearly heard Christal say "Now, keep in mind, they aren't going to land. We're going to have to parachute, me included. My wings don't work in this kind of weather."

Lak'Jzen shrugged. "Eh, this'll be fun. Steal some data, maybe kill some baddies."

Christal shrugged, "Maybe we won't have to. Depends entirely if we get caught. In that case, run like the wind." She said. The chopper's blades started up, and soon, they were lifted into the air. Christal put a parachute on her back. "Okay, any questions? We have plenty of time to look at the plans." She said, tapping her com. watch. "We need some info on the security. We're charging into a heavily-guarded area, with traps and security stuff everywhere. Otherwise, they wouldn't have given us cans of spray starch and signal jammers."

Giuseppe quickly figured out how to operate his com watch, and began reading the mission details, as well as studying maps of the area they were parachuting into. He was only slightly worried about the security, confident that the team could handle themselves. In addition, although the temperature on the helicopter was rather cold, Giuseppe found that he was quite comfortable. "So," he asked, turning to Christal, "Can you tell me a little more of what we know about President Nicolae?"

Christal nodded, "Well, what I've heard isn't too flattering. Nicolae is the ruthless dictator of Sivera. Like all the other presidents and dictators these days, he passes a ridiculous amount of harsh laws. He demands incredibly high taxes, and people who can't pay are hauled off to prison. A lot of them get executed, but it's not even their fault. Nobody makes enough money anymore. Sivera is rich because of the taxes, but the people themselves are living in extreme poverty. A lot of people in the IFGE came from Sivera. Nicolae is also something of a warlord. He's always in an arms race with other countries. He does a lot of weapons projects in secret, and we have to be careful, because he also invests a lot in security, too. We've covered our tracks so far, but he could pose a threat to the organization." She sighed before continuing. "He does a lot for power, so we keep tabs on him all the time. When they first escaped, we were worried the original soldiers might get captured. Nicolae could do a lot of damage with the serum, and he has the resources to make it."

Lak'Jzen finished looking through the maps and schemes of the mission on his wrist Comm, and made a comment on the conversation.

"So, basically we got a Power-Hungry nut on our hands." He said, his back partially turned to both Christal and Giuseppe.

Lak'Jzen wasn't really one for talking, but it seemed kind of funny to him when he did make remarks like that.

"When do we land?" Said Lak'Jzen.

Christal didn't seem to find Lak'Jzen's comment funny, "A power-hungry nut with the resources to crush the whole planet under his thumb." She said. "Also, what landing?" She asked, hauling a parachute over her back, as the helicopter stopped. The door in the side opened, letting in the frozen mountain air. She walked over to the edge and looked at the two, "Get your parachute and jump out of the chopper. I'll see you down there." She said. She then jumped, falling for awhile before she pulled the rip chord, opening a white parachute, and eventually landing on the ground. She slid the used pack off and looked up at the helicopter, which was barely visible above her.

Lak'Jzen had gotten caught up in his own thoughts so as to forget that they had to parachute. Ah well, parachuting would be fun, especially the way he was going to do it.

He took his parachute, strapped it on, and jumped out the side of helicopter.

He fell for some distance and still didn't pull the rip chord on his parachute.

He got closer and closer to the ground, until suddenly Lak'Jzen pulled the rip chord and out came the parachute, which helped him to glide to the ground, which wasn't too far away.

"That was entertaining. Where we headed now?" He asked.

Christal waited for Giuseppe to come down, when he did, she tapped her watch. A blue hologram projected out of it, revealing a model of a compound, which was built into the mountain. "Okay, here's the mission plan. Our job is to retrieve classified files, located in the record rooms, here." She said. As she said this, she tapped a room that was built into the mountain itself, revealing an entire compound inside of it. The room flashed red. "Now, this might seem easy, but its not. This compound is built into the bedrock of the mountain, and once we're in, we have to be careful, because it's not possible to burrow through that stone." She warned. "Now, security, there are security lasers in every room, and these, being special, are concealed." She tapped a tiny laser icon, which made all the inner rooms flash red. "Then, there are the cameras. There aren't any in the records room, but they're everywhere else." She tapped a camera Icon, the entire map, except for the records room, flashed red. The area around the mountain was red, too. "There are external cameras, so we have to be careful. Now, we use the spray starch to locate hidden lasers, and we use these," She held up a signal jammer, "To mess up the cameras. They'll mess up the video feed temporarily. Now, what we need to do before stealing files, we need to get to the security room-" A room near the records flashed red, "-And use this chip here." She said, holding a tiny white plug-in, "This will hack the cameras and instruct them to play a loop. If all goes according to plan, we get out of there, and it'll be as though we never came. Also, keep in mind, there are armed guards at every outpost, and men running around the corridors, so we need to be careful. Use caution, this is a stealth mission, and if we get caught, we may have to abort the mission." Christal finished.

"Alright then." Lak'Jzen said, cocking his pistol. ''Let's move out." He said, as he looked down at a mini-map on his wrist COMM.

"If I'm reading this right, we should move down this corridor." He pointed towards a long corridor painted grey with black stripes, and the identification tags "A-2" on either side of the corridor walls.

"There's another corridor but it leads to a heavily armored bunker. If we go down this one, the "A-2" corridor, there'll be a turn about 30 feet in, which will lead down a shorter hallway at the end of which are a pair of doors, two guards and a security camera."

Christal nodded, and looked between Lak'Jzen and Giuseppe, "Alright, now here's what I think we should do, Lak'Jzen, I need you and Giuseppe to go and handle the cameras. As for me, I have the ability to camouflage myself. It's not too fancy, but I can probably go further in without the cameras catching me. I think I should go to the records room. I'm not too strong regarding fighting, but I'm pretty good at stealth. Do you think you're up to the job of getting the cameras to play the loop? You're probably the only ones capable of taking out those guards."

"I think so. A smoke screen to confuse the guards, we snap their necks and if they have them, remove their tracking devices, then loop the camera. Sound like a plan?"

Lak'Jzen said this in a grim manor, but he seemed to think the idea of him doing that was entertaining.

Christal nodded once more, "Sounds good, but keep in mind, there are alarm buttons, too. Don't let them push the buttons closest to them, or the mission is compromised." She said. With this she looked out in the direction of the compound. "It's up to you two. I'm counting on you to keep something bad from happening." She took off, her feathers rippling and refracting light, which should fool anyone not paying close attention.

Meanwhile...

An agent barged into the main conference room of the IFGE, desperate to speak to the leader. Two guards charged after him. "Sir! Sir! I have news!" He exclaimed, panting. The guards rushed in and grabbed him by the shoulders, but the President held up his hand, "Leave him be." He said. With this, they released the man and walked out without a sound. "Sir, we have news from the Retrieval Team. We got a lead." He told him. The President knew what this meant. "Which one?" He asked. "Alexis, sir, we ran into one of her scent traps, but we undid it much faster than normal. We're catching up, but the men are still scared to engage." The President nodded, "And why have you approached me on this matter?" The Agent was toying with his fingers, "I was hoping for some back up." He asked. The President nodded, "I understand. We have a team of supersoldiers who are perfect for the job. Strong, and as loyal as sniffer hounds. If they succeed in the mission they currently have, then I will send them out with power armor." The Agent gasped, "But sir! You know how crazy she is! What if she gets to them with her notions?" The President laughed, "No worries, just tell them her words are nonsense." The man nodded, "Very well, sir."

Lak'Jzen gave a small salute, then readied to deal with the guards and the Camera. He proceeded down until there was no more corridor to walk down before walking past the guards. He pulled out a Combat Knife, and gently tapped the wall, just loud enough to attract one of the guards. He heard the faint sound of mumbling, followed by footsteps approaching his position. He crouched, just a few feet away from the corner. When the guard rounded it, he jumped up and plunged the knife deep into the Guard's neck. He fell dead silently. After a few more seconds, Lak'Jzen heard the other guard say something, and after a few more moments he too came to see what was going on. Lak'Jzen deployed the smoke screen he had stored in his belt to hide the body from the other Guard, who very foolishly walked into the smoke screen, and met with the same fate as Guard Number 1.

Satisfied with his work, Lak'Jzen pulled out the Signal jammer, and gently pushed it around the corner. He slowly and almost noiselessly walked around the Corner, up to the Camera, and inserted the white chip. No alarm so-far.
