Behind the Lines IC: Once upon a midnight dreary...

Post by Guest on Mon Sep 03, 2012 9:05 pm

planet Icarus, Tolovov Star system

The Seytanbalik-controlled planet Icarus is an odd planet where gravitational flux vortexes in the planet's unstable uranium core cause chunks of rock to float several thousand feet above the ground. The planet's surface is unstable and leaks enough radium to give you cancer just by breathing the fumes in, but the floating islands are free of radioactive activity, and are heavily cultivated by Seytanbalik farmers to make food for the Dominion war effort. The islands are wind powered, and every one of them have their own private wind turbines that control everything. The houses are small and have heavy tin roofs to keep the torrentuous wind from blowing the houses away. Agent MYRE woke up in a daze, tied to a chair inside of one of these houses with a shot gun stuck to his forehead.

"Good morning sleepyhead," a voice cackled. Myre looked around, dazed and confused from being knocked out when his helicopter crashed the day before during an Icarian wind storm. He went to move, but found that several steel chains were tying him to the chair so that he couldn't escape.
"One more move, and I'll blow your danged head off," the odd voice said.

He looked upon the sight before him. The Former Royal ship Yards on Borvus. It was a truly awe inspiring sight. The amount of activity was astounding. And to think that he was here to acuire his own ship. I was a simple matter. Really all he had to do was pick it up. It was paid for by the New Orgonian Republic, but they were nice enough to give him possession of it.

As he looked around he spotted what he was waiting for. There was a little squat Male. He was much shorter than the Standard Orgonian, if there was such a thing as that any more.

" Hello. I assume you are Gihro?"

" Yes. I"m here to get my ship."

" Of course. I was Informed of this ahead of time. I just had to meet you though."

" Why ?"

" It's not everyday someone orders a N-4 Stealth Striker. I just had to know the Enigmatic person who will posses it."

" Thank you. Not plsease take me to it."

" yes of course."

Gihro is lead to Docking spot where his ship is. He just looks at his companion, Who gets the hint and leaves. He get's into his ship. After getting clearance he departs the ship yard. As he leaves he he glaces down at the shipyard and the planet below.

"smack!" Myre was punched across the face by his SeytanBalik captors.
"we asked you a question göt deliği!" one of the interrogators yelled "where we're you the night when it happened?"
"with your wife," the smarty pants agent said "she-"SMACK! He was slapped in the Dave with a paddle "was that really nessesary?"
"don't insult my wife piç!" the interrogator yelled.

"ok, I'll leave the mirror to do that"!

SMACK!

"now answer the question!"

"I told you! I was-" SMACK!

"but-" SMACK!

"that's it!" the interrogator threw the paddle to the ground at Myre's feet, and the agent spring into action. The chair went airborne, the legs breaking as they collided with the interrogator. A guard pulled a gun, but he was thwarted by a flying paddle to the face. He fell back and slumped against the wall, unconscious. The third guard ran at Myre and slashed at him with it's fangs. Myre twisted and gave the creature a mouthful of chain. Now free from the chains that confined him to the chair, he broke the last guard's neck and took his Saybre-tech model 007 plasma pistol back from the incapacitated interrogator's body.

Five minutes later, a stolen SeytanBalik fighter plane left its hangar and flew off.

Exo was sitting at a cafe not 20 miles away from Myre's location, slurping down a iced mocha at one of those out door tables with the big umbrellas. it was considering buying some onion rings and throwing (or trying to throw) them at the local pigeon population so that they went around their necks. When its ipod detected a rouge bird exiting a terminal not to far from here at one of the agencies they were surveying base. 'Good glorgons, Myre... thats not exactly a low profile exit.' it thought, sending a message to the jet via temporary system override, that read: "Myre, when you were sent to get info, i'm sure they meant something more along the lines of SNEAKING into the base and then SNEAKING out. Not a first class James Bond style grande escape... So I'm assuming it didn't go exactly to plan or your just showing off and want to get yourself killed, because you've got about 30 seconds before they send some birds after you."

"ah Grazznot!" he yelled at Exo through the comms "they kidnapped me! What do you expect!" at that moment, a fleet if forty or so fighters flew in from behind the agent's hijacked bird, police lights blaring. They wouldn't fire on Myre yet -no, they didn't operate that way. They'd track the agent down and then, after he's running low on fuel, would blast him into smithereens.

"can you drop your coffee and help me out here?" Myre yelled as he flew past the cafe, the fighters tailing him and blowing the umbrellas into the sky with the pidgeons.

Exo swirled its coffee for a seacond, as if contemplating something very interesting about the light post 20feet away. "Naw... I like this coffee, its the first decent one I've had all week." I said back, taking forever to get to the point. "But, I'll see if I can help yah out, I might be able, just maybe, if its not to much work, override their planes and send them into the water, or more correctly that lake over there." It said, sucking loudly on its straw, while closing the chat app and opening one with a picture of a jar or grape jam which cracked and spilled digital jam on the screen, while sending out a signal which overrode the jets operating systems and turned off all power to their engines, causing the pilots, if they were smart to steer their ships towards the lake and land them there, or parachute out to safety.

"Hasta la vista like the terminator told ya!" Myre yelled, rolling down the plane window. he called Exo from his T-Phone as he wound the window up and flew off.

"hey," he said as soon as the phone was picked up "I'll dump this jet and meet you at the cafe. Stay there and don't do anything overly stupid". he flew down to another, smaller island where he could hide the plane, waiting for a response.

"By stupid do you mean use the same program to get into every phone within a mile radius and send them hate mail?" Exo asked with mock seriousness, before continuing; "Sure I'll stay put. Drinkn' coffee and thrown' onion rings at meh pigeons... as soon as they come back anyway..." It went inside and ordered some onion rings and while it was waiting for them to be served it asked with a slightly more serious tone; "Did you get what you came for this time? or did they find you out before hand?"

"In my p- oh s***!" Myre nearly crashed the ship when he felt that his back pocket was empty. This cannot be happening again! he thought angrily. Three times he had tried to steal the same thing. He was so close, yet a million miles away.

"we'll talk when I get there," he said, extremely angry "Do you have your EGF with you?" (electromagnetic flux generator). the agent parked the fighter, hit the self destruct button, and slowly walked away as the clock ticked down and it disintegrated itself silently.

"You don't have it. again." Exo said, as its onion rings arrived, and it the pigeons started to return. "And yes, I haz teh danged EGF." It finished, flinging a onion ring at the nearest pigeon and missing by about three inches. "Maybe next time I should go in after it, I am better at annoying people and getting them angry so they spill the beans than you are..." it flung a second ring at a pigeon that had made the dumb mistake of landing on its table and actually got it around its neck, needless to say the pigeon made a hasty and undignified exit, dropping the onion ring on a unfortunate pedestrian. "Yeah! two for one!" Exo yelled, momentarily forgetting it was still on the phone and on a top secret call.

"Stop antagonizing the wildlife and start trying to get the Core!" Myre yelled "I'm rocketing to your island now. mark your seat on my gps, go somewhere secret, and start tracking the Core before they move it to another planet." After saying this, he jumped off of the smaller island and activated his Helios rocket boots, firing him up a few hundred feet where he landed behind an office building undetected. the agent put his sunglasses on to avoid facial scanning detection technology. His heavy black trench coat helped him to avoid detection.

"Its just that those stupid pigeons heads move back and forth, like a bobber and they've got those purple rings around their necks, AND they stole my french fries earlier today! They were asking for it with their stupid bobbing heads..." Exo complained, flinging yet another onion ring at a rather large, fat pigeon and missing by a good foot and a half. It opened a GPS map and found its location, then took opened a animation app and selected a crude animation of itself throwing onion rings at people and pigeons and pasted it into the GPS and then created a big digital arrow in the program the pointed to its location.
"I think you should be able to find me... if your not blind as a bat, which, is a false statement, by the way, because bats aren't blind at all." It then went about tracking the radiation signature of the core. It selected a app that had a picture of group of four satellites orbiting the earth and selected it, the animated satellites started bouncing animated signals across the screen and a bar opened up on the bottom and Exo typed in the radiation type and approximate size of the object. "Okay Myre, I've got about a 20 minute window that I can use this planets satellites for before they track my signal and their fire wall blocks me out."

"excellent..." Myre replied, an evil smile stretching across his face. He walked fown the street and unsuspiciously sat down across from Exo, grabbing one if the onion rings and eating it.

" can you track the electromagnetic signature of the Core?" he asked, trying to flag down a Balik waitress.

"Can birds fly?" Exo retorted, pulling up a 3-D map of the base on the iPad and handed it to Myre, "Yes, of course they can, But I would like to see if monkeys can too." It leaned forward and snagged the onion tray from Myre before he could eat all its ammo and spotted a seagull perched on top of one of the umbrellas that had been left standing when the jets flew over. It lined up the greasy edge of the onion ring with the birds head and tossed it into the air, missing the bird entirely. Instead, the greasy ring of onion flew past the bird and into a elderly woman's hair, she turned to look at her attackers, the onion ring sliding off her head and splatting to the ground. Exo immediately looked the other direction, trying really hard not to break into a fit of laughter and was barely able to half hide a grin.

"charming." Myre said, smirking. That's when he looked over Exo's shoulder and saw two armed SeytanBalik sitting at the bar inside if the cafe watching them.
"drop your napkin and when you crouch down to get it look casually over your right shoulder". Myre said, flagging down a waitress.

"Oh brilliant..." Exo said sarcastically, chucking its napkin behind it and leaned over in a exaggerated fashion to retrieve it, and at the same time glancing into the bar, spotting the SeytenBalik and doing a quick analysis on him and then sitting back up and tossing the napkin back onto the table. "lets knock that down to 10 minutes before they track my signal and 5 until they realize who's hacked into their systems... now, lets see... what if we were to accidentally open a few bay doors and maybe a vault or two, and, you know, swamp them in enough paper work to drown an whale. Extending the time to 30 minutes, before they even notice my signals location." It said in a low tone, so that the SeytenBalik couldn't hear. "But... the down side will be that they will be out for blood at that point and..." It stopped mid sentence when the iPad buzzed, showing a red dot on the screen moving steadily towards the space dock... they were moving it again, and it would take months to track it down again... "let them capture me." Exo said in a much more serious tone, "I'll take credit for sending you in, I'll take credit for downing their ships, and everything they were going to charge you with, say I organized it. They'll think they've got the mastermind and then they'll keep the core here. If, I give them false information about our intel." It explained, grinning.

Gihro was cruising through space like it was nobody's business 'cuz it wasn't there business. Right now he had some down time between missions and really had nowhere to go. So he decided that he might go get a beer or something on a nearby planet. He'd heard some good stuff about the place from a few Fellow spies who've stopped there few times. and by few i mean like twice at the most. Remember Orgonians down get out much anymore. There might even be something good going on down on the planets surface. Ya' never know.

So he sets his ship on cruise control gets a diet Pepsi from his Mini fridge and waits for his ship to slowly descend to the surface

"ah Exo!" Myre laughed "you forget how stupid the Balik are. One sec". He rose from his seat and sat down next to the three guards.
"merhaba, akladasar." he said casually, ordering a glass of krema (a popular SeytanBalik beverage kinda like vodka mixed with sorbet).

"hail yabancının!" one if the three replied "Buralarda bir açmada maliyet garip görünümlü bir adam gördünüz mü?"

Myre took a sip of his creamy orange beverage and replied "Ben, gerçeğin kardeşim var. O Güney koştu ve yakındaki bir adaya uçtu."

"ilginç. ona ne oldu?"

"parlayan turkuaz nesne çeşit elindeydi."

"tanrı kahretsin!" the guards rose, paid the bartender, and rushed off. The head guard stated behind and handed Myre a bag of silver coins
"arkadaş, teşekkür ederim". He says, pushing the money into Myre's hand and then sprinting off.

Myre walked over to the table and tossed the coins into Exo's lap.
"shaboom." he said, sipping his crema. "I sent them to another island. They're looking for us there." he took another sip and said "but we have one problem".

On the Islands of Icarus, a small pod dropped silently onto the largest island. The pod remained still for a moment. Whatever was inside was taking precautions, and alerting the Mothership Tilus V, which was four parsecs away. Finally, the pod opened, steam drifting out because the sudden mix of air molecules. Out stepped the experienced Xikelic Figinaught Vise Yolan. Vise Closed the door with a code, the door locked shut, and the password pad disappeared inside the pod's walls in order to prevent an alien somehow cracking the code. Vise had came knowing what to do: look for the core. That was the only order. The only specification for where it was were these words: "Somewhere on those islands, right there." Vise grunted, angry that no further specifications were made. He then remembered that no one knew exactly where it was.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Vise knew it was dangerous to hide in plain sight. He had to act like a visiting alien. What made him even more nervous was that Xikarians weren't liked in SaytanBalik territory, even if they weren't attacking anything. If they saw him, would someone get suspicious? However, despite many nasty glares, Vise somehow got through without being questioned. By now he was wondering if a Xikarian was able to ingest SaytanBalik food. He was hungry. Micromusket, radio, and bayonet cleverly stashed in his surprisingly light backpack, Vise entered a nearly empty bar. If there was no familiar food, he can at least get a drink. SaytanBalik drink water, right? The unknowing Vise thought. Inside the bar were waiters, and some customers. Upon a quick scan of the room, Vise felt releaved to know that he wasn't the only alien there.

Exo moaned, it was really good at surviving normally suicidal operations, and it had become almost a kind of psychotic game, a gamble, a bet to see how long it could keep playing life like a zero sum game... and these stupid imbeciles kept preventing it from completing the perfect play.

"Yes, but they will still track my signal, once they find out that I took control of their precious satellites. And, the embarrassing fact that it was used to find their core."
Exo explained, its voice giving away a bit of its disappointment. It then saw a fellow agent, Vise was his name if its.memory served correctly, which it normally did. "Ave!" Exo yelled over to him, trying to flag him down.

Vise, surprised by the fact that he didn't notice his colleagues, laughed nervously. "Hi, didn't see you there." He sat down at an empty seat at the table. "So, I arrived about an hour ago." He paused to drink some of his crema. He didn't like the taste of alien foods, and this was no exception. Some Xikarians were not used to artificial foods. "When did you arrive?"

"I arrived two days ago, and what if I had been an enimy? By the time you noticed me, I could have put at least 4 bullets in your skull using a standard issue semi-automatic pistol." Exo said pessimistically, twirling one of the onion rings on its index finger before flinging it at a pigeon that was sitting on a chair about 6 feet away.

"oh come off it Exo!" Myre said, elbowing his accomplice in the ribs. "Exo and I came here on a mission a few days back for the JIA". He winced when he says their name, but then remembered that SeytanBalik only know how to speak Balik, so he could say whatever he wanted without them picking it up. "so what brings you here?"
