I always imagined Jiiran as being more lizard-like, but actually, he looks a little bit like a dog with armadillo features, his face, at any rate.

He isn't what I was expecting.. He doesn't look malevolent and sadistic like he is.

Very cool drawing though.

The one thing I'm regretting about this picture is his snout. I think the top ridge should have been thicker and the overall snout thinner. However, he usually carries an emotionless expression on his face anyways. He actually doesn't pleasure in causing pain (or anything else, for that matter). It's purely practical for him.

Here it is, my first attempt at Sculptris:

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

It's not perfect, though. The musculature is a bit rough, and I had a lot of trouble with the finrics (the things on his head). This individual has the standard five-pattern of fleshy finrics, no brow crests, and spike horns. I'll try to make other variations later.

Nice job! How did you make the muscles? I've been trying to do that with Kradus

For the chest, I just started with an initial crease down the middle, and used that same tool to carve the shape out. Otherwise, I mostly just built them up from scratch while taking a look at some human muscle sketches to see how muscles fit together.

Well very nice job!

Oh and when you take screenshots, be sure to turn the line of symmetry off. I can see it running down the middle of the picture, XD

Looking at sketches of anatomy is really useful. That's how I'm so good at drawing my Chimerosu, and such. I studied the appearance of bird wings, mostly.

Speaking of your drawings, they all seem to have died.

I suggest you get a DeviantArt, Vipera. It's more fun anyways and most people around here use dA.

(Notices that all the drawings in my thread are missing except for one, and throws a brief tantrum)

Okay, I might get a dA account, but sometimes it makes my computer go all wonky. I have another image hosting site, though, and I still have most of my drawings that got deleted.

Ok. Well, that works. Though dA had a lot more community to it. And there's beautiful artwork on there as well as literature.

I've started making a model of Aarin Tiirmot via Sculptris. We'll see how this works. Stay tuned. In the meantime, expect at least one, if not two drawings soon.

Heads up, everyone. Tomorrow I'll be displaying two pictures. One will be of Nira Tai. The other will be a mystery person.

Alright, everybody, after much procrastination, I submit two completed drawings. This first one is Nira Tai, Zizo Tai's niece, whom you may be familiar with from the Divided Paths roleplay:

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Before anyone asks, no, she is not dancing. She is kick-boxing.

This was my first attempt to add color to something, and in my own opinion, doing so was a mistake. The colors I had just didn't make her look the way I pictured her. Unfortunately, it's too late to change it.

And now for a major spoiler:

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I'm not going to tell you who this is. Not yet. Some of you, however, just might be able to guess.

Post by Vara Lord Mon Dec 01, 2014 8:45 pm

Hello, everyone. Sorry for the extended absence on this part of the forum. I haven't gotten as much done as I should like, and I have a ton of unfinished projects. In the meantime, here's one that I have finished, a new design for Prince Vey:

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I'm afraid I really botched up his one hand on the cane, but it can't be helped. By the time I saw how terrible it looked, I had erased that area so many times that the paper was wearing thin, so I left it that way.

I originally imagined Prince Vey having no horns, and his finrics (the fleshy things on the back of all Vatarris' heads) looking like segmented antennae. My original idea was that Vatarri had different forms and patterns of finrics, that some had horns and others didn't, and that some had eyebrow crests and others didn't. However, this idea was based in the race's convoluted origins in Spore, so I have decided to change it. From now on, all Vatarri have a standard pattern of five finrics, and male Vatarri always have horns and eyebrow crests, the only variation being in exact size. If I ever posted otherwise, just pretend that I didn't.

Anyways, I hope to be making more submissions in the future. I'm sure you've also noticed that I figured out how to change the title of this thread to reflect my current forum name. Hopefully no new members will be confused.

When Ravage goes Liirlith-hunting, she'd best watch out for this:

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

These monstrosities act as guard-dogs on many Liirlith bases, and can spew sedative-laced silk from glands in their mouths. The tail is also any times longer than the torso, though you can't see it in this picture.

I was too lazy to pen over this one, so I left it in pencil. I also hoped to give this picture more in the way of background details, but I stink at drawing backgrounds.

@Whoster I am currently resuming my work on your requests. Sorry for putting it off so long. From now on, I don't think I'll be doing requests anymore.

Here's a more finished version of the model I made my avatar with. Well, strictly speaking, the face is the only part that really has been more finished. I'm having some trouble with aspects of the rest of the body.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Mainly what I did was give more definition to the face, though I've been also trying to give it arms. I hoping this might become the base for something I can animate.

Earlier today, I took a quick look through the RG wiki, and I noticed that the article on Kradus had a nice drawing of him. This got me thinking of what I would draw for my own characters in such a situation, and I started working on a drawing of Admiral Lirr. In this picture, he's holding a helmet under his one arm, so I had to figure out what a Markovan helmet looked like. This is what I came up with:

I am currently trying to work on getting back to some unfinished projects. But for those of you who are wondering what the creature from the Biome plot looks like, here's some head shots:

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I'm not entirely pleased with how the third drawing came out, but oh well. I've also decided to no longer use a pen to finish my drawings, but rather to work exclusively with pencil, since my drawings seemed to lose something in the transition from pencil to pen. Expect a full-sketch of this creature, and other projects, in the near future.

That is a very interesting design. I like how the mouth mechanism works. It would be cool if you did a full-body work of this creature.
