As I said I would in my introductory thread, I'll post various Ruthless Galaxy related art here. These'll either be just sketches or coloured and cleaned up a bit in Gimp.
I any of you like what you see, request for me to draw a member of your race! (Seriously, I'm learning how to be a video game concept artist and I need all the help I can get to master digital programs)

As for learning how to draw one of my races, maybe I can give you something on that later. In the meantime, check out the Tonysaur's Art thread (I used to be called Tonysaur) to see some examples of my races.

Thanks Vara Lord, for the moment I'm just collecting stuff I've already sketched and trying to think of how my RP characters should look like.

Hithe Warrior -

A pure Hithe with no genetic defects.

Your drawings have a lot of personality. I like that you can capture that in the poses.

It took me about five different sketches to get a head I liked. And to answer Vara's question, no they just have a multilayered rhino-like hide that folds at the joints to create the segmented look.

The problem with how it's drawn is that the skin doesn't look wrinkly or loose. It actually looks like it's stretched very tightly over the muscle. There aren't tell-tale wrinkles or bulges at the joints that look like loose skin.

I tried a proper Rhino look, but felt it detracted from the aggressiveness I was trying to create with the design (sharp corners, flowing lines) with the wrinkliness. At this point a better description would be a synthetic look, the folds being shallow and more like mold lines but inversed.

The areas on the neck, sides and crook of the elbows, armpits and wrists are what's left over from the older design.

Well, I guess you make a good point. Smooth curving lines in wrinkles don't really make things look aggressive. If the skin was super baggy in the drawing, it probably would detract from the overall personality.

Random, I need to get a look at the Hithe warrior, but the images are broken.

Oh yeah I deleted my old image-hosting account and moved to imgur a while ago. I'll put up a new pic and generally clean up the thread.
