In the Ravena Year 51,766, experimental weapons technology developed during the Xikarian Civil War was ordered to be transported through unoccupied space, under a secretive Jorro'kil-Xikarian joint operation. Unbeknownst to the mission operators, information on this movement was leaked to a rogue group of Celiks, who had been cast out of the Xikarian Amalgamate during the aforementioned civil war.

These Celiks formed a plan to steal the weapons tech before it could reach its destination, and executed this plan with ruthless efficiency. Their brutality during the raid left only one survivor, and one whom the rogues thought to be dead. In truth, he was in a state worse than death. This soldier lost his sanity... but he would make sure that those who wronged him would lose much more than their sanity.

Character Name: Recet Dyruri
Character Description:

Personality
Simply put, Recet is stubborn and impersonal. Much of his life revolves around order - he is a stickler to the law, and likes things best when he doesn't have to worry about enforcing it. That being said, he does have to enforce it where he is from.

With the exception of his close friends and family, Recet is rarely patient with people. He likes things done quickly and with time to spare - and though this sort of aggressiveness helped him earn his rank as Detective, it is about the only area it has helped him in.

Appearance
Short at just over five feet, barrel-chested, possessing a short, soft beak, sensitive antennae that adorn his head, a lack of eyes, and colorful skin, Recet is about as normal as he can be for a celik.

His outfit is dark, as it is for celiks assigned as detectives, and covers much of his body. His two weapons are well-hidden in his outfit, and white metal boots ensure that no ground is too dangerous to tread on. Underneath his clothing is thin padded armor, effective for short, physical conflicts, but not for warfare.

On top of his head lies a device that captures a video feed of his surroundings - though he can "see" well enough with his antennae, true sight is a necessity, especially when in a potentially dangerous situation.

Character History: Recet Dyruri was born in the year 51,735, in the Xikarian nation of Gyi Biora.
As the thirteen Celik nations of Norcius, as well as their extra-planetary colonies, had unified into the "Xikarian Empire" just five years before, the world was just recovering from a brief period of chaos. Recet and his older sister were born into this chaos and learned to live in it.

in 51,747, Recet joined the police force, achieving recognition for his work after helping to bring down an anarchist group that planned to harm the Emperor at the time, Tilus Achova. He rose through the ranks quickly after that, becoming a detective well-known and feared in his home nation.

The end of the Dominion War stirred resentment against the "Xikarian Empire" and its government. Celiks no longer wanted to fight.
But they would soon have to once more, for less than a year later, remnants of the Dominion attacked Xikarian planets. Tilus, quickly growing sick, ordered Xikarian forces to fight back. Just before the end of the final conflict, Tilus died, and left the Empire without an heir.

The Xikarian Civil War broke out, and multiple sides vied for control.

During the war, Recet was called from his home in Gyi Biora to the Xikarian city of Someka, which was the capital of the entire empire, and was where Norcius' nominee for new Emperor - Tilus' cousin, Zigwin Achova - now resided.

He saw no action in the war. As the war came to a close, and Zigwin was crowned emperor of the Xikarian Amalgamate, Recet had gained even more recognition for his work in keeping the peace in the capital for eight long years. Recet still works as a detective, though with the theft of this technology, this would be his first mission outside of Xikarian borders.

Yes, I set it this far ahead because it's a very isolated plot. It will have little or no references to external events from the Disruption, only the alliance between the Xikarian Amalgamation and the Confederate Nations of Ravena.

This particular plot has been planned between Prussian, Alim, Random, and myself. It is still in development so it may be possible to fit you in.

Sweet now I know the terrorist group I want to use but what patrol to use...

I have an idea for something I might put forward for this, but it would require some discussion. I'll definitely keep in touch. If I can, I'll meet you in the chatbox. If not, I'll PM you.

While he won't turn up for ages as decided, I got a creative buzz and wrote down my character for this RP. There may be others, I don't know.

Olaeric Ohtanng

Character Species:

Xenoqqi

Appearance:

Standing at roughly 7'3", and 67 years old, Olaeric is an intimidating figure despite his age. His head quills have started to bleach out and wilt, resulting in them falling across his face and down the back of his neck. His eyes are sunken yet glimmer in a way that can be described as disturbing, while the rest of his face is obscured by a triangular rebreather that is attached to an air filter on his back by three tubes.

This rebreather gives Olaeric's voice a metallic resonance, and he is prone to coughing fits.

Olaeric wears a dark red robe with a black trim and an ornamental metal collar around his neck. His fingers sport several rings of various metals.

Personality:

Olaeric is a cold, calculating individual. He prefers to sit and wait to see how things plan out and has a mostly solid grip on his temper, though he is not above the occasional snide remark or insult. Despite this he has a spiteful streak and holds grudges for a long time.

Olaeric is fond of quiet environments in which to work and study, whereas more crowded areas make him uneasy. He enjoys working with machinery and tinkering, especially if the device is unknown to him previously. He respects those who stick things through and utterly despises people that hesitate and fail to make decisions.

Character History:

Olaeric had a rather uneventful life as a political scholar and inventor until the birth of his niece Ohtanng, wherein he was tasked with tutoring her in his work after her parents were killed in an inter-Dynasty conflict. The two did not get along as Ohtanng thought her uncle was a stuffy know-it-all and taskmaster, while her tardiness and procrastination grated on Olaeric's nerves. Arguments between the two were common during this period.

Eventually Olaeric was somehow able to mold his bratty niece into the well-respected individual she is today and was glad to see the back of her. However he never received recognition or reward for his work, official or otherwise. When Ohtanng was crowned the new Xarl after her predecessor's death and an unforseen deficit in profits, Olaeric was shocked to find his funding had been cut, forcing him back to a place in the Dynast's crowded court and a position overseeing the Foundry world of Qro.

Naturally Olaeric was livid over this, having to leave behind several unfinished projects in exchange for a dreary office job. To spite his new Xarl, he secretly began dealing in illegal shipments and developments, seeking to amass enough currency to kickstart his projects and undermine the Ohtanng Dynasty as much as he can.

5 years after this turn of events, an air vent failure caused the Overseer tower and Olaeric's quarters to be filled with noxious gas that all but shredded his lungs. Despite his relation to the Xarl, he received little medical help and was instead fitted with a rebreather and air filtration pack.

2. Character/Race Picture: Standard Jorro'kil Male

3. Character Description: Reis stands at roughly seven and a half feet tall, and, like almost all Jorro'kil, is slender. His feathers are a bright, almost sky-blue, and his beak is an odd dull turquoise color, with dashes of tan. His claws and foot talons are also a strange dark turquoise color. Reis's eyes, however, are an emerald green color. His unique eye color and the color of his beak and talons set him apart from most Jorro'kil.

Reis prefers to wear basic clothing. His garment consists of a long-sleeved light-grey shirt, with dark-grey cuffs on the wrists, and semi-circular highlights on the shoulders. His pants are nearly identical in style, being light-grey with dark-grey semi-circles around the thighs and ankles. He only occasionally wears boots; otherwise, he wears nothing on his feet.

4. Character History: Reis grew up on Irooscin, home world of the Jorro'kil. He was exposed to only the best indoctrination of respect for the Jorro'kil empire and its military might, which was further bolstered by the splendor of his home city. Both of his parents served in the Free Absolute military, and unfortunately both of them perished during the Dominion War. This left Reis with a cynical, bitter outlook on the Free Absolute and the wars which the Jorro'kil fought and continue to fight. However, he feared trying to express this sentiment, and let it fester inside him, unspoken. He is now mildly repulsed by many traditions of his people concerning war and honor.

Just thought I'd let everyone know that the IC is currently being written jointly by Prussian and myself. Anyone can contact either of us with any last-minute ideas that you (whoever you may be) would consider important to the first post of the IC.

3. Character Description: A highly regarded Lieutenant. Avlex is young and a bit of a mope compared to others of his species. Avlex suffers from a rare disease which causes muscles to deteriorate at a rapid pace and not to mention eyesight loss. Thank fully the doctors caught but not without losing most of his muscles in his right arm and some of his right eyes sight. Avlex now has to wear a prototype robotic sleeve and eye piece that are supposed to help him be fully in control of his body and sight. The robotic sleeve covers his entire arm except his hand and uses cybernetics that are wired to his brain to help move it. The sleeve is really bulky and takes a bit of time to take on and off. However this sleeve gives him a big weakness because if it short circuits in combat then he will be left with a limp arm and useless eye not to mention a good shock to his body.
4. Character History: Born in the colony of Sarsnak, Avlex lived a normal childhood. Both of his parents were high ranking military officers and he dreamed to be like them one day. After his required five years, he stayed in the military and joined the soldiers. Avlex served in the Ralcath war where he made a mark for himself in history when he took charge of his unit and fought the rebelling colonist out of his home colony. Avlex could not serve the whole war however because a month after his home was attacked he suffered from Tervitist which causes muscles to deteriorate at a rapid pace and lost eyesight. The doctors could not catch the disease in time to save his right arm and most of his right eyes sight. Avlex had to go through experimental cybernetic surgery in order for him to use his robotic sleeve and eye piece. When he finally recovered from surgery, Avlex was given a promotion though he did not feel like he deserved it. Now 26 Avlex is still serving the military trying to find a reason for why he should accept his rank.
After an exploratory mission to find new empires went wrong Avlex was reassigned to patrols around Xliveien space until his brother “The Survivor” can be found or a new mission comes up that the Lieutenant would be perfect for

3. Character Description: An Xlivein who stands about six inches taller than the average Xlivien. This young general always wears red and brown combat armor to always feel like he is fighting back on Xion. Carrying a sword and a pistol he is ready for most combat. He has a few scars on his face from his time in the Ralcath war. His personality is a calm and joking one but gets serious when it is needed. Despite this Rodox still has a very rough time with losing his own men in combat.
4. Character History: Rodox grew up on a farm on the Xliveien homeworld of Xion. Where he had firsthand experience with the struggle of just living there. That led him to an amazing performance in the Terrors of Xion which made him very recognized. During a leave on Xion Rodox learned how to tame the fearsome Xarkes which roamed the planet this became very useful knowledge during the Ralcath war when he introduced and implemented the idea of using Xarkes as siege engines. Because of this Rodox earned an early promotion to the rank of General and now has a seat in the Tribunal where he helps handle the foreign affairs of the Federation.

Character Name:

Warlord 17, the Pale King

Character Species:

Hithe

Appearance:

Standing at 10 feet exactly with a lanky and well muscled build, 17 is an almost perfect model of a pureform Hithe. His only genetic defect is albinism, which manifests as whitish, almost translucent skin and pale talons. This genetic anomaly has granted him the name "the Pale King" by those his pirate fleet regularly terrorizes.

17 wears crude gauntlets made of stone wrapped in leather and a belt overloaded in various trophies such as skulls, hair and teeth. Strapped to his hip is a spiked mace and a large blocky assault rifle, the muzzle modded to serve better as a second bludgeoning weapon. 17 also wears a rough cape over his shoulder, the hooks that hold it in place directly nailed into his skin.

Personality:

17's other oddity is that he possesses a degree of foresight and ability to plan beyond those that naturally occur in leader Hithe. This intelligence has given 17 an arrogant and prideful personality, strengthening the low view Hithe have of other species and lesser members of their own race.
17 has an odd attraction to valuable objects. While a normal Hithe is perfectly happy with a weapon and a few trinkets for bartering, 17 hoards the spoils of his raids and guards it jealously. If someone were to take down the Pale King and his lackeys, the treasure trove within would set them for life.

Character History:

17 was born on the second cruiser of Warlord 9024's raid fleet, his base part coming from one of the Warlord's chief yesmen. The young Hithe quickly rose through the ranks by using his natural cunning and gained a large following in his wake. Eventually it reached the point where the resident Warlord and the upstart would butt heads, a large fight breaking out between those loyal to 9024 and 17's followers.

17 and his men escaped by jumping ship and commandeering a second vessel as well as two destroyers. The ships were able to make warp jump before they were gunned down by 9024's forces. The warp lead the newly made Warlord 17 to the Pradum sector, where he quickly carved a name for himself as the Pale King, hijacking trade routes and attacking isolated outposts.
Warlord 17 obtained his trump card from a backwater planet somewhere in the Pradum Gulf. He had heard of a prophet who's latent psychic abilities had granted her a limited form of future sight. The raid went off without a hitch and the creature now hangs in a cage  above the 17's seat on the bridge. So far the benefit of keeping her alive has been mixed, due to either the fuzziness of her abilities or possible mistruths. Either way, the Prophet's abilities had saved the ships many times.

Appearance:

The Prophet wears a full body cloak, the blackish grey material obscuring her entire body and face underneath a tattered hood. Due to her crouched position at all times, her full height can only be guessed but it is possibly around 5 feet. Her most defining feature is her thin, taloned hands, each with seven fingers.

Personality:

The Prophet has long since gone mad, prone to fits of giggles and a roundabout way of speaking. This makes her predictions incredibly difficult to decipher, especially for her captors as they come across as vague and riddle-like. Her lack of self-preservation (long since eroded with her time on 17's ship) means she constantly interrupts those below her cage and taunts them.

Character History:

The Prophet's life on her home planet is relatively unknown aside from being revered as an important holy figure. She was eventually kidnapped when the Pale King descended upon her world and now spends her time as an advisor and impromptu warning signal.

Very nice post Random. It's all good, except for the Jorro'kil running away in a panic. They would die fighting, instead.

Ugh, I hate it when I get things wrong. I'll change it.

EDIT: The main Jorro'kil force now makes a tactical retreat and the stragglers instead try to hold the Hithe off to no avail.

.... How many re-writes does it take?!

When you have no idea how to wrap up a scene, you spend a lot of time just sitting at the computer just trying out different things. Post is 3/4's done, ending just needs to be finalised.
