Re: The Disruption (OOC)
Reading over that, it may be possible to make The Following of Personified Light be an extension of or a religion built of the original one. This is similar to the relation between, say, Judaism and Christianity.
The Pact of Stone revolves around the idea of apotheosis. By practicing it (Much of which would actually be creating new technology and researching sciences, contrary to some human religions) the Krathunians believe they can become gods, essentially. Maybe the Following of Personified Light believes that they have already reached this point in existence and have stayed to aid the Jorro'kil or something.

Re: The Disruption (OOC)
Sounds promising. It would also be interesting to see the obvious pity the Purists would have for the followers of the FoPL, in Divided Paths, say.

Done. I tried to make it so Svar wasn't being too conspicuous but also not too subtle.

Xerin is just around seven feet tall, just to clarify.

Svar is around 9 1/2 feet tall, so I would think he has to look down at least a bit.

Re: The Disruption (OOC)
Yep. And a Chimerosu's height measurement is based on a measurement from the tip of the horns to the front foot, for reference. They're sort of human-sized, but it's hard to describe unless I made a silhouette chart.

Re: The Disruption (OOC)
Maybe someone could make a silhouette chart, and we could all download one by one, each adding his/her own thing, and we'd have a complete chart.

Re: The Disruption (OOC)
Yeah, having a way to reference the size of an alien to a human is always useful, it's hard to realize how big or small something is unless you look at the silhouettes and compare them. I'm basing the size of Vitisan predators off of dinosaurs, so, yes, I do have a silhouette chart to show you how big the predator you're about to fight is...well, sort of, it's pretty thick, but it's just a giant snake, length is kind of important for it to look like anything more than a giant sausage, and it's based off of sauropods in regards to size.

Well, the Masquetilan battle is going on right now, and it's currently blinded, because early on in the battle Isbar took out one eye, and Haku pecked out the other. It's relying solely on smell and hearing, right now, but it's pretty good at finding you based on sound, and smell doesn't hurt, either.

Re: The Disruption (OOC)
Alright, sounds good. A quick question before I write my post - how penetrable are the sides of the Masquetilan? I was going to have Svar weaken small parts of its sides with the plasma beam then slash at them with the sword but I wasn't sure how durable the sides really are.

It's armed with scales, like most reptiles, but they aren't heavily armored, or anything, because it's camouflage is so effective, they have to be smaller...imagine trying to punch through a toe or fingernail...

Re: The Disruption (OOC)
On a whim, I decided to throw my two cents in and add my three factions to the RG map. Here it is:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
In case you're wondering, Vathoris is the tiny orange dot at the base of the third arm.

Re: The Disruption (OOC)
Well, look how far everybody traveled, the UCN is waaaaaay out there!
Also, I just had a plot idea. At some point during the plot, I'll tell you when, I plan for Blair to be critically injured fighting (Insert alien monster/opponent name here), in such a way that medical technology will not be advanced enough to save him. In keeping with the fact that there's going to be romance in the story, Corey is going to suggest that they extract some mutagen from Ravage's blood, and give it to Blair, in hopes that he'll develop a healing factor that can cure him. During this time, it will be discovered that the mutagen replicates and is synthesized in Ravage's cells, and that although it remains in a certain fixed state, it activates on occasion and allows her to adapt to certain pressures (I intend for the feather change, minus the wing ornamentation, to be explained later.) Because people won't discover this until after they give Blair the mutagen, he's not just going to recover from his injuries, but he will also undergo a mutation process similar to the one Ravage had, though there won't be any weapons fusing into his body. Overall, it'll mark a point where Ravage is going to have to try and help him out with his new-found mutant abilities, because he's going to suffer aggressive rages similar to hers. His appearance will also be severely altered from the original one, enough that you would hardly mistake him for a Cavernian.
Also, spoiler alert, I have three species of Chimerosu that will be introduced over the course of the main plot, I may or may not add more, but for now, the grand total of all species will be seven, three undiscovered currently.
EDIT: Plot twist, here comes the game warden and the sort of disappointing/also more positive news. Nobody gets to kill the Masquetilan, but it's actually going to make history, it's going to be the first-ever captive one they ever obtained, meaning that everyone has just contributed to research about it.

Re: The Disruption (OOC)
If anybody wants to join the Continuum Corrupter plotline, now would be an ideal time. tonysaur, if you don't want to respond to the current post I'll keep going, but just let me know.
As for what I have planned for that... Let's just say a war is imminent.

Re: The Disruption (OOC)
Okay, the Maquetilan news is already being announced on radios everywhere (Television sets just don't seem to fit Vitis, I wanted to go a little low-tech). Old Sal may or may not appear at some point in the story, I intend for people to find out what happened with her at some point, because it's kind of like a mystery, how this whole situation is going to turn out.
Now, with the little stay on Vitis drawing to a close, we can do either one of two things, the plot's a bit flexible. We can have people run into Arachnarche drones in the fifth arm, or we can have them locate an outpost and find the first planet and discover a new Chimerosu culture. Either way, one of the two will happen first, and the other will come second. If you run into Arachnarche, you're going to find the outpost after the battle, but if you find the outpost first, you're going to run into Arachnarche after you leave the newly-discovered planet.

Re: The Disruption (OOC)
Before they enter the Fifth Arm, can they pick up two Markovan representatives at a rendezvous point at the base of the Fifth Arm? Remember Lirr volunteered help from the Markovan Empire earlier on Vathoris.

Re: The Disruption (OOC)
Just wanted to reiterate, if you want to have your empire join in on the Continuum Corrupter plot, have a representative or something encounter the Wreae unit. I know it's relatively slow compared to the Aracharchne plot at the moment but it will get much more interesting.

Re: The Disruption (OOC)
Which Wreae unit are we talking about? (They're a kind of robot, right?) Is there a special one for the Continuum Corrupter?

Re: The Disruption (OOC)
The reason I'm making the Arachnarche plot a bit fast is generally because I normally have a problem keeping things moving. I'm not going too fast for anyone, am I?

Yes, the Wreae are mechs created by the Ryun. I'm talking about the Lieutenant unit from earlier - I forgot to mention him in the previous post, though.tonysaur wrote:Which Wreae unit are we talking about? (They're a kind of robot, right?) Is there a special one for the Continuum Corrupter?

Re: The Disruption (OOC)
@Zaroas Okay, how would that be arranged?
I think Teglin's answer could have used some more work in my recent post, but I'm a bit impatient.
